Our Wheel of Time
This site is based closely on Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time fantasy series. We try to keep to his descriptions as much as possible, without plagiarizing his ideas and story-lines.
For the ease of role playing, we're following the 'modern' trend of the books - what with saidin being cleansed and Tarmon Gai'don approaching - but we have several very basic changes. First off, the White Tower is whole.
1.) Respect all those here.
2.) Keep all postings clean/semi-clean. (In other words if you come to a point in your postings, where you and another person might be getting close to relationship/romantic liaisons...please keep it clean. You may post enough to allow your reading to 'imagine' what you're doing, without actually posting the details of these actions.
3.) For those signing up for plots, or for those already in a thread...
Please be sure if you sign up for a plot, that you are capable of fulfilling this job. If you have need of your character exiting that plot please post them doing so.
Those of you already in a Thread, if you have need of exiting that thread, please post your character doing so. If your character exits and plans to go elsewhere to meet with another from that previous thread, please post your character exiting and heading for the specific place you are to meet at, then post a new thread, contact those who are to meet you, and let them know where your thread is located at.
Example: After the lashing of words, Karynna storms from the room, leaving those within with open mouths and shocked looks upon their faces. Karynna heads for her quarters.
Notice I stated Karynna heading to her quarters? Now you don't need to post where your character has headed, I just used that in my example. But if your character and another from the previous post plan to go somewhere else other than there, either to be alone or to meet with others...basically if the original post branches off...those two leaving, will post where they plan to head for...then you will go and start a new thread with those two characters.
4.)Please remember that Aes Sedai are capable of bonding several Warders at once.
Green Ajah~Only the Green Ajah make a habit of bonding more than one; generally, men are bonded one at a time.
Red Ajah~These sisters are forbidden from taking one (although some might entertain the option of a female warder).
Brown Ajah~Some sisters never bother to select a warder, unless finding it necessary to their studies.
Blue Ajah~Aes Sedai of this ajah generally has one Warder and tend to work for causes or quests. They believe by involving themselves in the world they can help allay the Shadow's spread, and hence prevent another breaking of the world.
Gray Ajah~One warder. These sisters are peace-makers and mediators, involving themselves in the dealings of nations, as well as the Tower, to resolve conflict or ease it.
Yellow Ajah~One Warder. These sisters think of little else but Healing. They strive to solve the problems, or limitations, of Healing in the current Age. They tend to be the strongest and most skilled Healers of all Aes Sedai.
White Ajah~Smallest Ajah. One Warder. Logical and stoic, the White ajah eschews the world and the value of worldly knowledge, devoting itself to questions of philosophy and truth.
Asha'man~One of the students at the Black Tower discovers a weave much like the Aes Sedai/Warder bond, that the men studying there can use to remain close to their wives. While it provides the same shared information of physical condition and general mental state as the traditional bond, it is unclear if either party receives the Warders' hardiness, or the susceptibilities to death of either person. Presumably with the harsh training and dangerous conditions that Asha'man go through, it would have been noted if their wives had gone into an insane rage when they died. As the bond is presumed to be independently discovered, it is likely that it does not provide those additional benefits and drawbacks.
5.) Not ooc's (Out of Character) postings may be in any thread, unless it pertains to the story/plot. If you took too much time to reply to any post, and want to apologize, Please do it in the "Announcements" area, as well as sending a personal message through the mail system here to give apologies, etc...
6.) No killing or maiming of another character (not without the permission of the owner of the character in question. If permission is given, then both writers must inform the Amyrlin/Staff by mail of this information.)
7.) No Godmoding will be tolerated.
Godmoding
a.) When one plays a character that can never be destroyed, harmed, etc. The character, however, can hurt and/or kill the other characters without giving the other characters a chance. Everyone has weaknesses, your character should be included.
b.) When a character knows information that they shouldn't - this information could be taken from a forum they aren't supposed to have accessed, the user's prior knowledge on a subject (usually in fan-based RPs that follow a time-line), outside conversations about characters, or anything along those lines.
c.) When a player takes control of another player's character (this is negated if there is some form of mind control involved, but even still permission for actually moving the character should be discussed). A common, though often accidental, version of this is when a character attacks another character and they explain that the other character was hit, not giving that person a chance to let their character dodge.
Occasionally, a writer may ask another writer to post for him/her. This is fine, so long as both writers are agreed upon it, and the Amyrlin/staff have been informed. But please, DO NOT give out your account info/password etc.. to do this. Once agreed, the appointed writer will post as usual on their own account, but at the top of their post, they will write and OOC, which states they are writing for a particular character, with the permission of that character's writer.
Occasionally, a writer will give another writer permission to post his/her character doing or saying something. Again...permission must be given prior to this, and the Amyrlin/staff notified. The reason for notifying the Amyrlin/staff, is so that there are witnesses.
7.) Please DO NOT spam my boards. Place all advertisements, Plots, Announcements, etc...in their respectful places.
8.) And most importantly...HAVE FUN!
Thank You,
Amyrlin Cirindha
